Emergency Procedures

• It is the responsibility of each AWC Member to be familiar with and to follow these procedures in the event of an emergency:

• Hallways leading to the 8th Street exit and all passageways leading to or from the Chateau Room, must be cleared of Chairs, Tables, Boxes, etc.
• The floor plans are not actually displayed anywhere. We have rough floor plans with emergency evacuation routes indicated in the office.
• AWC Members, handicapped in any way, are encouraged to sit near exit doors on the East side of the Chateau Room for quick exit purposes.
• The Club Manager is responsible for seeing that all exit doors are unlocked and all passageways are cleared for quick exit.
• In the event a tornado should occur, members and guests should proceed down the stairs into the A Level (Basement).
• Committee Chairs are responsible for seeing that exit doors are unlocked during their meetings or gatherings. Doors must be locked upon leaving and lights turned off.
• Members or groups using the Third Floor must be aware that smoke inhalation could be a life-threatening risk in case of fire. The only exits, other than the stairway, are through the French doors or windows leading to the Third Floor Porch (South side).
• Members of the House and Docent Committees will be instructed and prepared to act as monitors for emergency purposes during AWC Luncheons and General Meetings. The Club Manager and Staff will be responsible and prepared to handle any emergency for any group activity held in the AWC Building at any time.
• DEFIBRILLATOR INFORMATION  A defibrillator is located by the entry to the office area, near the top of the stairs to the lower A Level.

•Inside East entrance to Kitchen

•Outside walk-in cooler in Kitchen

•Inside San Antonio Street entrance

•Back Stairs Landing leading to 3rd Floor
